Title

Equity Markets: Global Perspectives and Major Issues

Event Description

Russell Napier is one of the best-known commentators on global equities markets and is renowned for his analysis of bull and bear market cycles.  He is visiting us from Edinburgh to share his insights and global perspective on major issues confronting the markets.  In doing so, he will discuss fundamental changes that have occurred and what he sees on the horizon.

Mr. Napier began his investment career, after studying law, at Baillie Gifford in Edinburgh.  While there, he managed funds in the Japanese, then US, and finally Asian markets.  He moved to London and managed Asian portfolios there.  In 1995, he relocated to Hong Kong to become the Asian strategist for CLSA.  He occupied that position full time until 1999 during which he was ranked number one for Asian strategy in all major industry polls.

Since 1999, Russell has served as a consultant for CLSA while establishing a new course called “A Practical History of the Financial Markets” which is taught through the Edinburgh Business School.  He is director of the Scottish Investment Trust and Mid Wynd International Investment Trust.  Finally, he is the author of Anatomy of the Bear, an incredibly informative and well-researched book that describes the four greatest bear markets in the US and lessons to be learned from them.

Also, Russell will be holding his Practical History of Financial Markets course in NYC on March 22-23.  A limited number of spaces are still available.  Please visit http://didaskoeducation.org for more details.
